Ireland is divided into two sections, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Now a days it is easy to travel between the two and enjoy Ireland as a whole rather than in parts. However, there is a difference and should be respected as such. Both are beautiful and represents everything associated with being Irish. The United States has a wonderful representation and long history of Irish Immigrants, as such we have a close bond between our nations. One important historical figure President John F. Kennedy is of Irish ancestry. There are more reasons to go to Ireland besides heritage. It is another of the British Isles archipelago. It is the third-largest island in Europe and the twentieth largest island on Earth. The geography of Ireland is varied and vast with low lying mountains, surrounding a central plain and several rivers. There are plenty of outdoor activities for the adventure traveler, families and nature lovers. Hiking, walking, fishing, golf, horseback riding, kayaking, rock climbing and wonderful surfing around Sligo, Donegal and Portrush.
One of our clients wanted to explore his family roots. With information he already had we were able to design a family adventure around where his grandparents were from. He even got to meet the people who are not living in his grandparents home. When they returned from their family roots adventure they were so excited about their family heritage that they applied for Irish citizenship. Since he was only two generations removed from his Irish censorship they were able to be granted his Irish citizenship.
Some of the more common sites to see are the Ring of Kerry, Blarney Castle, Cliffs of Mohre, The Burren, Arran Isles, Cork, Waterford and Dublin. Other equally beautiful sites to not be missed are Wicklow, Kilkinny, Kinsale, Dingle, Connomara, Donegal, and Northern Ireland, Londonderry, Giants Causeway, and Belfast. With so many wonderful places and things to do in Ireland you will need to establish priorities and understand that you cannot see everything in a week. You will have to return and its just one of those lovely problems in life, with something wonderful to look forward to. The question is what kind of experience do you want?
